The “G” in ESG investing stands for Governance. Governance indicators point to how well an issuer engages in good decision-making practices and has strong governance characteristics such as management expertise and independence, board diversity, and business ethics.
Examples of “governance” red flags: conflicts of interest, board imbalances, bribery and corruption litigation.
